Distribution Center - 1130 South 3800 West, Salt Lake City
There are two available shifts:
Monday - Friday 12:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. and Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.
Both positions require the ability to work a rotating Saturday shift of 9:00 a.m. 5:30 p.m.
Both positions require training Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. for the first 8 weeks of employment.
|Duties:|| Set up machines to polish, bevel, edge, and grind lenses, flats, blanks, and other precision optical elements.|
Position and adjust cutting tools to specified curvature, dimensions, and depth of cut.
Inspect lens blanks in order to detect flaws, verify smoothness of surface, and ensure thickness of coating on lenses.
Shape lenses appropriately so that they can be inserted into frames.
Inspect, weigh, and measure mounted or un-mounted lenses after completion in order to verify alignment and conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.
Remove lenses from molds, and separate lenses in containers for further processing or storage.
Accurately trace frames to calculate measurements for lenses cutting using Tracing Machine.
Mount, secure, and align finished lenses in frames or optical assemblies including drill mount assembly with precision hand tools and equipment.
Inspect finished lenses with Lensometer to confirm patients prescription
Clean finished lenses and eyeglasses, using cloths and solvents
Ensure the accurate and timely assembly of finished components through 4-Point Quality Check process.
Inspect finished lenses for anomalies, scratches, or other imperfections
Support the members of the assembly department in a team-based environment
Proper documentation of processes, standardized assembly instructions and logs for each job and daily tracking
Maintain clean room standards and sterility
|Qualifications:|| Experience measuring lenses with a Lensometer is preferred|
Experience with lens stock is ideal
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to focus on repetitive tasks for an extended amount of time
Must have the ability to take direction
Must have intermediate computer and technical skills
Must have great customer service skills
Must have basic math skills
Must have the ability to work with small instruments and supplies for long periods of time (such as small screws, screwdrivers, pliers, and other tools)
Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time
